The Event Codes determine what and how events deliver to an alarm Operator and customer activity. Manitou allows users to modify its programmed pattern for dealing with the events and alarms connected to these codes.
Adding an Event Code in the Supervisor Workstation
The following steps through how to create a new Event Code within the Manitou Supervisor Workstation.
- Navigate to the Maintenance ➡️ Events ➡️ Event Codes.
- All the Event Codes already defined in Manitou display in the left-hand menu.
- Confirm if the event doesn't already exists before adding a new one.
- Click Edit.
- Click Add.
- Enter the new Event Code.
- Enter a description of the specific event the Event Code.
- Click OK.
- Select a category to assign to your new Event Code from the "Event Category:" dropdown menu.
- Only when overridding the event to its lowest value of alarm, trouble, restore, and the like, select a Zone State Code from the dropdown menu.
- Set the Alarm value.
- No - Not an alarm - Logs as a signal in the alarm activity.
- Yes - An alarm at any time.
- If Residential - An alarm ONLY when the record is a Residential account.
- If Commercial - An alarm ONLY when the record is Commercial.
- Set the Alarm Priority. 1 = highest priority, 99 = lowest priority.
- Set the Default Action Pattern. This is the action pattern used for this event code if no other overrides exist.
- ONLY enter Generic Signal Instructions, if that information should be the first thing the operators must read EVERY time they receive this alarm.
- If necessary, select any Programming Commands needed for this event. Such as CanCancel, Restore Requried, etc...
- If necessary, clck the elipses button and Select all the Signal Processing Attributes that apply to the new event code.
- Click OK.
- If necessary, click the elipses button then Select the applicable Customer Attributes that apply.
- Click OK.
- Enter the number of seconds to wait until the new/viewed alarm changes to Warning Level (yellow) status.
- Enter the number of seconds to wait until the new/viewed alarm changes to a Danger Level status.
- Enter the number of seconds to wait until the actioned alarm changes to Warning Level status.
- Enter the number of seconds to wait until the actioned alarm changes to Danger Level status.
- If necessary (rare), set the Disaster Mode override options.
- Repeat as required.
- Click Save.

Removing an Event Code
Perform the following steps to remove an already-defined Event Code from Manitou:
- Navigate to the Maintenance menu ➡️ Events ➡️ Event Codes.
- Click Edit.
- Select the Event Code to remove from the scroll-down menu and click Remove.
- Confirm and Click Yes.
- Repeat as required.
- Save the form.
