Concurrent Alarm Handling

When an operator retrieves an alarm from the queue manually, and there is another operator working that alarm, the system prompts with a dialog noting that there is a Concurrent Alarm handler.  Also, if the Manitou Auto Client (Virtual Operator) is processing items on alarms this too notifies the operator.

Operators have options when they receive these concurrent alarm handler notifications:

  • Defer the alarm back to the alarm queue and allow the other alarm operator to handle the alarm
  • Communicate with the other alarm handler for coordination.

Auto Client (Virtual Operator) handling may, or may not, inhibit the processing of any remaining actions.
