Manitou's Signal Handler processes events into Manitou through the following path:
Understanding if a panel type, or dealer, requires a Transmitter Type with signal translations, or signal translation programming within the Customer record, an understanding of how Manitou signals process into the system is vital.
Please note! Any overriding transmitter programming lines on a customer or Transmitter type, containing a pound/hash sign (#) blocks the Manitou available signal options for the line defined by the #-sign.
Guidelines for where to enter a Signal Translation
Intelligent Event
- No changes from signaling Default - Event Maps
- Zone-specific Override, or specific event commands for the Customer Only - Customer Record
- Zone-specific override or specific event commands for all for the type - Transmitter Type
Non-intelligent Event
- Equipment-specific zone translations - Transmitter Type
- Installer-consistent zone translations - Transmitter Type
- Customer-specific zone translations - Customer Record
Signal translations should be the exception, not the rule, for use in Manitou.
Manitou, using the Event Maps, and Transmitter Type programming, should be able to manage most events at the highest level possible.
