Authorities are the responding entities that attend to the alarms. In most countries, these are Police, Fire and Medical. Some common Terms used for describing authorities are:
- PSAP - Public Safety Answering Point
- AHJ - Authorities Having Jurisdiction
- Emergency Services
- Dispatch Centers
- 911/999 Centers
Some jurisdictions have the authority to respond to all types of alarms triggered at a monitored site, while others respond only during certain hours of the day.
Every monitored location will have some sort of responding authority for each type of alarm. Authorities are created on their own individual records with their phone numbers and specific requirements.
