Open/Close Schedule Types

Open Close Schedules follow a standard override scheme for each schedule to the right of the Permanent schedule.

  • Permanent Schedule - The "when all else fails" schedule.  This is the schedule that is in use most of the time.
  • Alternate - Overrides the Permanent schedule for a period of time.  Common uses for the Alternate schedule are holiday seasonal overrides such as between Thanksgiving and New Years in the US for retail organizations, or summer schedules for school districts for when the buildings are not in active use for a period of time.
  • Holiday - Based on globally set holidays, the Holiday schedule overrides the permanent and alternate schedules for the specified holiday dates.  Such as New Years, or Thanksgiving, closures.
  • Temporary- Are single-entry overrides to all schedules.  These are usually created when there is a situation that would generally violate the schedule such as inventory or a closure.
